Empowering Women in Small Business

This is a sponsored post for Diamond Links.

When you decide to start your own business, it is a very exciting time. It can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. You come up with a great idea work out the logistics of what you want to do and you get to work. There’s a difference between a business and a successful business. Anyone can start a business, but the key is to become successful. Even with the greatest idea, you may need some help getting it off the ground. Rarely, does a business just take off right away. Having a successful business takes a lot of work. More women owned small businesses the better. I feel like they reach their clients in ways men can’t especially when it comes to women’s products. They’ve lived it.

We all have other things going on in our lives besides our businesses. We have families and other commitments that also need our attention. It’s often something you can’t do all by yourself and still be able to have time for family or sleep. What if I told you that you can get help with starting or running your business? You can easily create a support system and get help with all the things you aren’t sure of. When I started blogging, I didn’t understand what search engine optimization was. I had to spend time learning how to do. I had to do a lot of reading to figure it out. If I could go back, I would have definitely hired someone to help teach me.

If you have a mentor who can help empower you to grow and lead by example, it’s definitely important. Remember that not everyone will be a match.  As women we should all empower each other and lift each other up. It doesn’t seem like not long ago, women were not going to college. They were homemakers and stay at home moms. Thankfully, that narrative has changed drastically.

It is so important to take your education seriously. It is almost a must have to be successful. There’s so many different things you can go to college for. You get to make that decision. It’s your future that is at stake. I started talking with my son about where he wants to go to school and what he wants to be. He’s a freshman in high school now, so we are starting to have those conversations.

After you decide what you want to do and finish school, it’s important to find another woman who will help you and want to see you succeed. Find someone who will empower women

You need to find someone in your field to help you grow and learn. That doesn’t just go with owning a business, it could be other fields too. If you are interested in entertainment, you can contact a professional like Nancy Etz who can teach you the ins and outs of the entertainment business. Entertainment can be a really hard field to break in to because it can take a lot of auditions or knowing the right people who can help you get your foot in the door. What’s that old saying? It’s all about who you know.
